Since 2005, CrossFit has posted workouts meant to honor the memories of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice and exemplary members of the CrossFit community who are no longer with us.
A Hero workout is not just a test of fitness; it is a trial of mental fortitude. When a typical CrossFit athlete is briefed on a Workout of the Day, they look at the Rx’d option and decide whether it’s suitable to their ability. However, with a Hero workout, there’s more on the line than just a couple letters next to your score on the whiteboard. Committing to the most difficult level of the workout, that is still appropriate to your physical and mental capacity, is a promise to the fallen to try to experience a tiny speck of the pain and effort they endured.
We recently added six new Hero workouts for you to consider today: Buriak, ODA 7313, Goose, Pikey, Gale Force, and Northrup.
